The N.D. National Guard gave honors to the city of Rugby last week.

During a meeting of the Rugby City Council last Thursday evening, Adjutant General Alan Dohrmann gave a presentation to the council and gave Rugby Mayor Arland Geiszler a plaque commemorating both the community support of the Guard as well as the Guard's years in the community.

Dohrmann said the Guard has been moving out of armories in some North Dakota communities over the past year and that they "didn't want to mourn" but rather "celebrate" the relationships the Guard and communities have had.

Dohrman thanked the city for its over 70 years of support and pledged the Guard's continued support of the city. Dohrmann also asked the city to continue to support the Guard.

Ward 2 Councilman Gary Kraft and Ward 3 Councilman Joel Berg were both absent for the meeting.
