Panthers win three sets against Hornets

In a road game Tuesday night, the Rugby Panthers played four sets against the Harvey-Wells County Hornets.

The Panthers won the first two sets, 25-20 and 25-8. The Hornets were able to win in a close third set, 25-23. The Panthers came back to win the set after, 25-8.

Last Saturday in a tournament in Carrington, the Panthers fell to the Carrington Cardinals in two sets (25-12 and 25-14), which took them out of contention for the championship game. In consolation play, the Panthers lost in two sets (25-7 and 25-18) to the Edgeley-Kulm-Montpelier Rebels.

Earlier in the afternoon, the Panthers defeated the Jamestown Bluejays JV squad, 25-19, in two sets.

In pool play, the Panthers first defeated the Turtle Lake-Mercer-McClusky Trojans in two sets, and then tied sets with the Rebels. The Panthers ended pool play by winning over the Benson County Wildcats in two sets.

Two days prior, the Panthers defeated the Bottineau Stars, 25-14, 25-16 and 25-17.

The Panthers hosted Mohall-Lansford-Sherwood Thursday night, and will host Surrey on Oct. 17 and Glenburn on Oct. 24.
