Wolford Fire gets new truck

April 14, 2017
Carissa Mavec - Tribune Reporter , Pierce County Tribune

Wolford Fire Department purchased a 1987 Pierce Dash Pumper Tanker fire truck that was located 80 miles south of Chicago, Illinois a couple weeks ago.

According to Fire Chief Jim Wolf, the truck will be used mainly for structure fires such as house fires and barn fires.

The truck can also be used to transport water to other departments, if needed. This particular truck can hold up to 1,000 gallons of water.

"We didn't have a real pumper tanker, so we decided it was time to invest in a tanker to help with structure fires," Wolf said.

The department now has two grass unit trucks, one pumper and one water pump.
