Cheree Schneider

Dec. 9, 1974- Jan. 10, 2017

Cheree Lee Schneider, 42, passed away peacefully in the arms of her mother and aunt on January 10, 2017 in a Minnesota hospital.

Cheree was born December 9, 1974 in Fargo, ND to James and Brenda (Martinson) Ebach. Cheree moved to Wisconsin with her mother Brenda and grew up in the

Madison, WI area. In 1989 Cheree was diagnosed with Lupus. She did not let that sustain her. She graduated high school in 1993 with honors. Following high school Cheree worked at a health studio. In 2003 Cheree attended Headquarters Academy of Hair Design in Minot where she was honored to have been mentored by Mr. Roll and her angel Della Zeitler. In the midst of graduating another disease took control, Scleroderma. This would not stop her from graduating and holding her yearly

license as a proud accomplishment.

Cheree was very strong and determined, however as her disease progressed she knew that she could not continue doing what she loved. She began to fight for Medicaid coverage and to keep coverage for expensive treatments. In 2008 Cheree wrote 57 letters requesting time with campaigning Barack Obama, her perseverance paid off and on April 4, 2008 she received a call from the secret service informing her of the opportunity to speak with Barack at the Allerus Center in Grand Forks, ND. Cheree discussed to importance of non-embryonic stem cell research and struggles with others like her who faced the same diseases.

Cheree had many life-long treasures. She loved spending summers in North Dakota as a child with her Papa Ned and second family, the Kobles who are from Balta, ND.

The fun times at the Witty's cabin on Strawberry Lake. She loved to fish. She enjoyed Bible Study at the Parker Center. She will be missed by her cats Sas and Dorito. Cheree would find a special place in her heart for any animal no matter how homely they were.

Those who shared in her life, mother Brenda Martinson (Rob) Granville, ND; life-long father figure, Robert Gehrke Madison, WI; Aunt, Bonnie (Dennis) Wild, WI; Uncle, Phill (Sarah) Martinson Minot, ND; Great Uncle, John Brinster Devils Lake, ND, Great Aunt, Bonnie (Eddie) Post, Granger, WA, Karole (Wayne) Witty, Minot, ND; Special friends, Colleen Wilson, Lodi, WI, Ellen Carr, Kiefer, OK, Michelle Disch, New Glarus, WI, Heather Tollefson, Black Earth, WI, Eric Sinner Fargo, ND; one very special friend, David Schneider Rugby, ND; and numerous cousins also survive.

Cheree is preceded in death by, grandparents Ned Ignatius Schneider, Jr., Gloria (Witty) Schneider, Galen and Gayle Martinson; great aunts and uncles, Margaret Brinster, and Madgalina (Leo) Schneider, Cecelia (Pat) Bartsch.

Celebration of Life will take place at Country Inn Suites, Minot, on January 28, 2017 from 2 6 p.m. Cremation took place per Cheree's request.

A private family burial will take place in Pricilla Watts, Rugby, ND.
