Frank Sattler

Frank Sattler, 97, passed away on December 11, 2016. Frank was born to Clara and John Sattler on a farm near Rugby, ND on July 9, 1919. He attended school in Rugby

until 7th grade and then worked on the family farm. Frank worked as part of the Civil Service as part of the rebuilding of Pearl Harbor.

On September 2nd, 1947 he was united in marriage to Ramona Whitman. Frank worked various jobs when he and his family resided in Rugby and Garrison. In 1967,

Frank and Ramona moved to Casselton as Frank had a job as the city Water Superintendent. Frank retired in 1985 and lived independently with Ramona in their little red house until February 2016.

Frank enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as wood working crafts. He was an avid reader of western novels. One of his favorite activities was taking photographs with

the digital camera he received for his 90th birthday. Frank enjoyed watching the squirrels on his porch of his home and the turkeys on the lawn of Villa Maria.

Frank is survived by his children: Carole Ann (Frank) Turchin, Fargo; Bruce (Candyce) Sattler, Gladstone, ND; Douglas (Theresa) Sattler, Fargo as well as 10 grandchildren: Dawn (Keith) Samuels, Wahpeton; Jeanette (Brent) Haugen, Argusville; JoDee (Blaine) Bjella, Mesa, AZ; Janna (Mark) Schill, Grand Forks; Jamie (Luis DaSilva) Leslie, Fargo; Cassandra and Cody Sattler, Gladstone; Christine (Michael) Skaggs, Devils Lake; Amanda (EJ Lien) Sattler, Fargo and 14 great-grandchildren.

Married for nearly 69 years, Frank was preceded in death in August 2016 by his wife Ramona. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, son, Dale Sattler,

daughter, Elaine Goll, and granddaughter Sharlene Turchin as well as many beloved friends and family.

Funeral Services were previously held: Friday, December 16, 2016 at 10:00 AM at the Casselton United Methodist Church with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Burial was in: Casselton Cemetery following the service.
