The Towner-Granville-Upham school district received a continuance for its Early Head Start program.

The Early Explorers Program received more than $1.09 million in federal funds authorized by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Monday. Also receiving funds was the Southeastern North Dakota Community Action Agency in Fargo. More than $2.6 million in federal funds were dispatched.

"Head Start and Early Head Start programs across the state play an important role in shaping the future of our children and putting them on a path toward success," said Sen. Heidi Heitkamp in a recent statement. "Every dollar we invest in Head Start and Early Head Start programs are an investment in our kids' futures. Children in Fargo and the TGU School District benefit from access to these programs and the federal funds announced today will continue that important investment."
