Cross Country wraps up season in style

October 28, 2016

After a powerful showing at the East Region meet, the Panther Cross Country teams had lofty goals at the State Meet this past weekend in Jamestown. There was no let down as the Rugby Boys placed 2nd overall and the Rugby Girls 3rd.

Individually, the boys had three All-Staters and the girls had one (Top 20 finishers in each race are All-State). Kristina Brossart (19th) was the lone rep for the girls, while it was Brett O'Connell (8th), Riley Zachmeier (12th) and Dawson Schepp (9) for the boys.

"Overall, we had an awesome day," stated Coach Bill Jansen, "both races were competitive and the boys took second in back to back years, while the girls went from 11th last year to third this year, I was pleased."
