Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated for Lorraine Pollman, age 86 of Rugby formerly of Willow City, on Friday, February 26, 2016 at 10:00 am at the Notre Dame Catholic Church in Willow City. The celebrants at the mass were Father Phillip Chacko. Alecia Pretzer was the soloist and Pam Anderson was the organist. Casket bearers were Jeff Dosch Jr, James Scott Pollman Jr, Ryan Pollman, Justin Pollman, Bryant Nelson and Shane Pollman. Honorary casket bearers were all of Lorraine’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Burial will be at the Notre Dame Catholic Cemetery in Willow City.

Lorraine Donna Mae Pollman, a daughter of Albert and Beatrice (Picard) Hoff, was born in Minot on February 16, 1930. She attended grade school in Gardena and Omemee. She attended the Notre Dame Academy in Willow City for 2 years before spending the next 2 years at a tuberculosis sanatorium where she received her GED. She went on to attend a year of college in Wahpeton, ND. On July 17, 1951, she married Robert D. Pollman at the Notre Dame of Victory Catholic Church in Willow City. They lived in Gardena for a time before moving to Willow City. Lorraine worked in the Central Supply at the St. Andrew’s Hospital for many years. She later worked at the Rolette Community Care Center where she worked as a ward clerk until her retirement.

Lorraine was the loving wife of Robert and in June of 2016 would have celebrated her 65th anniversary with Bob. Being the mother of eight children Lorraine kept herself very busy and was very involved in her children’s and grandchildren’s lives. She was also very talented and did such things as cake decorating, painting and various craft projects. She loved to garden and take care of her flowers. Lorraine had a huge heart and was involved in various charity activities and community organizations like American Legion Auxiliary, Willow City Community Club and Senior Citizens. One of Lorraine’s biggest passions was her love for God and dedication to the Catholic Church in Willow city.

Lorraine passed away on Monday, February 22, 2016 at a Rugby nursing home.

She is survived by her husband, Robert of Rugby; children, Steve Pollman (Colleen) of Willow City, Jeff Pollman (Becky) of Bottineau, James Pollman (Penny) of Willow City, Merrilee Pollman (Gary) of Mandan, Raul Pollman (Nick) of Minneapolis, Suzanne Nelson (Arnell) of Rolette, Holly Pollman Oberst of Houston, TX and Robert Pollman Jr of Willow City; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Betty Pollman (Richard) of Georgetown, Il and numerous nieces and nephews.
