N.D. Vision Services, School for the Blind Wishes You a Happy New Year

January 1, 2016
Pierce County Tribune

We are lucky to live in a time when many health conditions can be managed effectively. Wonderful resources are available in local communities and regionally. Most of us know where to turn when health concerns arise. Some challenges that people face continue to be very difficult. In spite of wonderful eye care services and medical care, some people experience irreversible visual impairment. This impairment ranges from mild to severe, but the reality is the quality of life and daily function is often negatively affected. This can lead to a loss of individual value and could be signs of depression.

If you or someone you know is challenged by visual impairment that is affecting daily life, seek out resources that will help you regain confidence, independence and function. North Dakota Vision Services/School for the Blind provides services statewide to both children and adults. This can be done in the form of a phone consultation, a home visit or training at NDVS/SB in Grand Forks. Keep in mind, all of services are free. We can teach a variety of coping skills and demonstrate the latest technology that will directly help you. We will also provide you with encouragement and emotional support. Living with low vision or blindness is not easy. You can live a happy life and accomplish your goals. Take that step forward in 2016.

Paul H. Olson,

Superintendent of NDVS/SB
