Schmidt: 4-H Shooting Sports Practices to Begin January 11th

December 28, 2015
Yolanda Schmidt , Pierce County Tribune

Practices are set to begin Monday, January 11th at 6:30 pm at the Rugby Armory. A $10 processing fee will be charged for each discipline to cover risk management insurance, equipment repairs and ammunition. Registration deadline is January 8th. Youth must be 8 years old by January 1st 2016 to be eligible to participate. It is also expected that a parent or adult will attend practices with their child and be willing to help with practice as needed. Youth do not need to have their own equipment, but this year youth will be allowed to bring and use their own equipment if they have it as long as it meets match requirements.

The group is also planning a fundraiser meal sometime in February to raise the remaining funds needed to purchase an enclosed trailer to facilitate storage and transportation of equipment. Each business, organization, or individual that has donated funds to the Pierce County Shooting Sports Program can expect to see a decal with their name or logo on the future trailer.

We wish to extend a special thank you to our wonderful volunteer instructors as dedicated and passionate volunteers is truly the key to successful 4-H programs. Thank you everyone who has donated time, talents, and funds to help Pierce County 4-H continue to grow and thrive in so many ways! To register or for questions about the Pierce County 4-H Shooting Sports Program or Pierce County 4-H please call the Pierce County Extension office at 776-6234 ext. 5 or email yolanda.schmidt@ndsu.edu .
