Prairie Village Museum's 5th annual Old-Fashioned Holiday Dinner, Bake Sale and Gift Basket Bidding will be held from 5 to 7:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 11, at the Rugby Eagles Club.

This year, in honor of the museum's 50th anniversary, former staff and Geographical Center Historical Society board members will be recognized during the dinner.

"Right now the list of former board and staff members being invited to the dinner stands at 48," said executive director Cathy Jelsing. "The museum was built by volunteer leaders and hard-working staff and we are eager to thank them for making the museum what it is today."

As per tradition, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be at the dinner from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. to meet and greet kids. Attendees may purchase homemade holiday baking and chances on an array of gift baskets ready for Christmas giving. And Linda Lysne will be serving up roast beef and all the trimmings.

Pianists Cathy Wissink, Dianne Montonye and Glenda Mack will keep the atmosphere festive throughout the dinner. At 6:30 p.m. Strings Plus One, a trio featuring Gail Danielson, Cathy Jelsing and Diane Arnstein, will fill the air with sounds of the season.

Dinner sponsors include Envision, Center Mutual Insurance, Merchants Bank and TBEI-Rugby Manufacturing with additional support provided by the Rugby Convention & Visitors' Bureau. All proceeds go to support the Geographical Center Historical Society and Prairie Village Museum.
