We Have a Winner

October 2, 2015
Pierce County Tribune

At a recent halftime during a Rugby Panthers Football game there was a Dollars for Scholars Frisbee toss winner.

Lauren Christenson, a senior at Rugby High School, was the lucky person who made it in to the garbage can at the football game and won a T.V. donated by Bremer Bank. Kerry Grochow and Jan Hagen purchased the actual Frisbee, but Christenson had the good fortune of being chosen to throw it. Chad Hager made the presentation to Christenson as president of the local Dollars for Scholars organization.

When Christenson was asked about making the winning throw and winning the T.V. she said, "I was really shocked that I won it because I really suck at throwing a Frisbee." When asked if she had a strategy she said, "I practiced before I threw it and then I waited till everybody else was done and then I just went for it and it just went in." She also wanted to thank the Dollars for Scholars organization and Bremer Bank for such a great prize, "I really do appreciate it very much."
