Heilman Receives U of M Merit Scholarship

Allison Heilman, Rugby, was one of more than 50 students invited to attend the Merit Scholarship Brunch held at the University of Minnesota Crookston. Heilman, an Animal Science major, received The Distinguished Scholarship.

These high achieving students and their families began the day with brunch followed by a program in Bede Ballroom, Sargeant Student Center.

The program featured Assistant Professor Danielle Johannesen, honors program coordinator, along with 2015 Student Orientation Staff (SOS) leaders Senior Taryen Stomberg, an animal science and agricultural business double major from Menahga, Minn., and Junior Bailey Braatz, a sport and recreation management and marketing double major from Hanover, Minn.

Following the program, the merit scholars had an opportunity to be the first to register for fall semester classes which begin on Tuesday, August 25.

The Merit Scholarship Brunch was hosted by the Student and Family Experience office under the direction of Alysa Tulibaski, student experience and parent coordinator at the U of M Crookston.
