Johnson Wins Dekalb Award

McKenzie Johnson of Rugby High School was recently presented the school's highest agricultural honor, the DEKALB Agricultural Accomplishment Award, sponsored by Monsanto Company.

Johnson, the daughter of Craig & Rachel Johnson, received the award for excellence in academics, leadership and agricultural work experience. Johnson's significant experiences and accomplishments include national parliamentary procedure, gold in state food science, gold in state land judging, Officer of the Day and gold in state parliamentary procedure. Rick Vannett and Kasey Okke are Johnson's agricultural education instructors at Rugby High School.

This year the DEKALB Agricultural Accomplishment Award celebrates its 68th anniversary. Over these 68 years more than 168,000 high school seniors from across the country have received the Award, which has become a symbol for excellence at the schools highest agricultural honor.

As the winner of the 2015 Award, McKenzie Johnson's name will be recorded on a permanent plaque displayed at Rugby High School.
