Rugby firemen hold poker tournament

The Rugby Firemen's Auxiliary, with cooperation from the Roughrider Poker Tour, held its annual Texas Hold 'Em poker tournament Saturday, Feb. 22 at I.C. Dubbles in Rugby. The tournament was put on through the Jaycees' gaming license

Proceeds from the tournament went toward the purchase of equipment for the local fire department.

70 players tried their luck in the tournament. Kerry Raes, of Manitoba, won the tournament and Carl Schaan, of Rugby, took second. Other placers in the top 10 were John Ulland, Velva, 3rd; Kurt Brorby, Minot, 4th; Jim Bohlman, Rugby, 5th; Camron Millang, Dunseith, 6th; Keith Lauder, Ellendale, 7th; Alan Hornbacher, Drake, 8th; Wayne Wentz, Rugby, 9th; Kevin Bruner, Drake, 10th.
