Popular events to return to fair

March 13, 2014
Pierce County Tribune

Pierce County Fair Board president Greg Berginski confirmed that two popular events from past fairs will return to this year's Pierce County Fair.

The band 32 Below, which drew a large crowd last year, will be returning this year.

The Mud Runs will also return this year, albeit on a new course. The new mud run track will be east of the Geographical Center Speedway/grandstands.

Also confirmed are the dates of the fair, which will be July 3-6, with 4H exhibits opening July 2. The Mighty Thomas Carnival is slated to return.

The fair board still has yet to confirm other bands and entertainment for July 5, and additional events and entertainment for younger children. They also hope to bring back the ranch rodeo-an event that had, according to Berginski, good participation and audience turnout despite not as much publicity.

The board hopes to have all grandstand events ironed out by April 1, and free stage and other events by May 1.

"We're always looking for volunteers to lead and participate in handling events," Berginski said.

To volunteer, contact Berginski at 776-5938.
