Haugen working toward doctorate

Tyler Haugen, Pharm.D. student at NDSU has been in his professional rotation at Heart of America Medical Center for the past three weeks. Following completion of the rotation he will continue on to Mesa, Ariz., for another five weeks.

"I always enjoyed science classes as a kid and was encouraged to become a pharmacist," Haugen said. "What I look forward to the most is being involved in patient care."

Haugen is a 2008 Rugby High School graduate and the son of Kraig and Mary Haugen of Rugby. Haugen will graduate in May with a Doctorate in Pharmacy.

District 14 Republicans to elect delegates

The District 14 Republicans will be electing delegates to the State Republican Convention at their their annual Lincoln Day Dinner on Feb. 16, at the Harvey Eagles Club.

District 14 includes the counties of Pierce, Wells, Sheridan, Kidder and the western part of Benson. The guest speaker will be North Dakota Agricultural Commissioner Doug Goehring, who is seeking re-election in November.

Alos in attendance will be District 14 Sen. Jerry Klein, Rep. Jon Nelson and Rep. Robin Weisz.

The banquet will include a pie auction sponsored by the District 14 Republican Executive Board. Tickets can be purchased from any of the executive board members and at the door.
