Fire Hall fundraising over halfway to goal

December 6, 2013
Pierce County Tribune

The Rugby Fire Department has received money or commitments totaling $525,549 for a new fire hall. The department's goal is $995,000.

"We're very pleased with the community support," Fire Chief David Schneibel Jr. said. "We had an idea we could get more from the corporate foundations in the process, but we've had tremendous support from the public in town."

Schneibel hoped to have at least $500,000 raised by January, so bids could be made then and construction could start in the spring. The department is still seeking support.

"The North Star Community Credit Union along with its management, staff and board of directors recognized the importance and need for this new building project for the Rugby community," North Star said in a press release. "We would also like to thank all of the volunteers for their hard work and dedication not only to the community as firemen and auxiliary members, but also for their personal dedication to this worthy cause."
