Cub Scouts recruiting night scheduled

If you can remember the Pinewood Derby, Blue and Gold Banquet, going to Camp, or earning your first badge make sure your son can make memories just like yours by signing him up for Cub Scouts!

Pack 551 of Rugby, will be hosting a sign-up night, and open house at the Rugby First Lutheran Church (202 4th St SE) Monday, November 4th at 6 pm.

Cub Scouts is open to any boy in first through fifth grade, who wants to have fun, earn badges, and get involved!

The Cub Scouting program is broken into grade levels starting with Tigers (first grade), and works its way through Wolf, Bear, and Webelos. A boy can join in at any level and not being involved previously doesn't disqualify him for future badges or ranks.

Scouting is a program that is run solely by trained and approved volunteers. Cub Scouts can expect to have a fun time doing hands-on science projects, working as a den to achieve ranks, building their own Pinewood Derby car, going to Day Camps to shoot archery and BB-Guns, and most of all Scouts can expect to have fun! The aims of Cub Scouting include: building character, learning the responsibilities of citizenship, and developing personal fitness.

For more information on Scouting, or to join contact District Executive, Kevin Mehrer, at 701-839-2260 or at kmehrer@nlcbsa.org.
