October 18, 2013
Pierce County Tribune

The Uffda Fund for Animals has received a grant of $1000 from the Impact Foundation-Cando Connection. The 2013 grant is awarded to the Uffda Fund for pet rescue services, which include spay/neuter, vaccination and rehoming.

The Uffda Fund for Animals is a non-profit 501(c) 3 tax-exempt corporation which was established in 2008 to help control the stray animal population in Cando and the surrounding area by funding spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations and when possible, finding suitable adoptive homes for cats and dogs. The Uffda Fund is not an animal shelter or humane society. It does not provide temporary housing and instead depends on voluntary fostering/boarding. Since it began, the Uffda Fund has provided the aforementioned services to more than 300 animals. The Fund depends on the generosity of individuals and groups making donations or remembering a loved one with a memorial offering. The Board of Directors is a dedicated group of volunteers who love and respect animals. For more information on the Uffda Fund for Animals please visit www.uffdafundforanimals.org.

Impact Foundation of Fargo ND is a nonprofit organization serving residents in North Dakota and western Minnesota. Its mission is to build the capacity of nonprofits, such as the Uffda Fund, local businesses and individuals to maximize their community impact. Impact Foundation waives its administrative processing fees so that 100% of the funds raised for the Impact-Cando Connection Fund are returned directly to the Cando area.
