October 4, 2013
Pierce County Tribune

Trish Short was a featured presenter at Little Flower Catholic Church on Oct. 2, speaking to the assembled congregation as well as performing a vocal rendition of the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy.

Short is a former model, actress and pro-choice feminist who was introduced to the Chaplet of Divine Mercy by a friend after she'd gone through some tumultuous years in her 20s.

The Chaplet of the Divine Mercy is a devotion as delivered Saint Mary Faustina Kowalska, who was canonized in 2000.

Trish Short, Chaplet of Divine Mercy inductee, was a featured presenter at Little Flower Catholic Church on Oct. 2, speaking to the assembled congregation.

She received her religious habit and was known as Sister Maria Faustina. In 1935, she said she received a prayer through visions in which she communicated with Jesus.

Faustina recorded this vision in her diary and said that Jesus asked her to pray the chaplet, which is recited in verses similar to the rosary, to others.

The chaplet includes 10 parts, which include optional opening and closing prayers.

Short transformed the chaplet into song, and is now an award-winning director, music producer and singer/songwriter.

She has appeared in a number of media forms, including on ABC Family Channel and on the Fox Network.
