Pierce County Tribune

The Good Sam RV Club was at the Pierce County Fairgrounds in Rugby from Aug. 22-25 with over 80 RV's and campers. Heart of America Medical Center had staff volunteer from two different departments to go to the fairgrounds and provide an educational seminar and conduct blood pressure checks.

David Stollery and Shelby Deaver, staff from the Golden Heart Paramedics volunteered to do a CPR/Safety seminar geared towards travelers. Their goal was to educate them on what do in case of an emergency while traveling to remote areas. "We wanted to educate them on what to do before paramedics arrived on scene," Stollery said.

Karen Drader, Shannon Schiller & Laurie Heilman, all part of the acute nursing staff at HAMC volunteered their time to offer blood pressure checks for the Samboree attendees. They conducted over 30 blood pressure checks in one hour.
