August 23, 2013

Lynae Voeller has been hired as administrative assistant at Pierce County's NDSU Extension Office.

Voeller, a Surrey native, will help out with the 4-H and pesticide programs as well as being the person who handles calls and visits to the office.

Extension Agent Yolanda Goodman has been looking for office help for quite some time. She's often in the field and didn't want to have to leave the office for long stretches. Voeller will also open up Goodman to devote more time to some of the programs within the extension office.

Lynae Voeller has been hired at the NDSU Extension Office. Voeller will work out of the extension headquarters at the Pierce County Courthouse.

"She'll help with registrations for upcoming meetings," Goodman said. "Client walk-ins, answering the phones, general office organization. We've got a lot of files that need to be updated. I'm really excited to have her here."

Aside from those tasks, Voeller will handle distribution of the many printed materials that are at the extension office.

"Just the brochures alone," Voeller said. "There are so many brochures to be had by anyone."

Voeller said her office experience should make the transition to the new position an easy one.

"No, not at all (difficult)," Voeller said. "Just give me things to do. I'm so excited. It was tough when I had to wait a week-and-a-half to come here."

Voeller's hours will be 8:30a.m.-3 p.m. Mondays through Thursday with a half-hour lunch typically from 12:00-12:30p.m. and Fridays her hours will be 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The Extension office hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
