Cotton Wood returns to Rugby

August 16, 2013
Pierce County Tribune

This season of Music in the Park is going out in a big way, with art, cars, a picnic and familiar faces.

The band, Cotton Wood, a Washburn-based bluegrass band, will be coming back to perform under the Ellery Park gazebo on August 21. This will be the sixth time the band has come to Rugby to perform.

The four-piece group consists of Jill Weise, bass/guitar/mandolin; Dan Foster, guitar/mandolin; Keith Koch, guitar; and Lee Benjamin, banjo/guitar/dobro. In addition to covers of bluegrass and country songs, the band plays its own music.

Cotton Wood, a Washburn-based bluegrass band, will be coming back to perform under the Ellery Park gazebo on August 21 at Music in the Park.

Three other things will be taking place that night. At 5 p.m. the Lions Club will be serving burgers and picnic food until gone. From 4 to 8 p.m., local artists and crafters will have the chance to display and sell their wares at "Art in the Park", and at the same time classic cars will be on display. Cotton Wood starts their set at 7 p.m.

Tune in to KZZJ for more information in the event of inclement weather.
