Ten complete AEMT course

Ten regional EMS providers have completed the Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) course conducted by the Rugby EMS, a service of the Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby, ND. The course consisted of over 160 hours of classroom instruction and clinical shifts completed at the Heart of America Medical Center, Trinity Hospital, Community Ambulance of Minot and the New Town Ambulance Service. AEMTs are authorized to perform advanced care procedures like insertion of intravenous lines, medication administration, use of specialized airway & breathing assistance devices and pain management.

The students completing the program are: Jenny Cote, Rugby EMS; Shelbey Deaver, Rugby EMS; Jessie Lake, Rugby EMS; Michael Leaf, Spirit Lake EMS; Robert Maye, Spirit Lake EMS; Solomon Peltier, Spirit Lake EMS; Katy Saykally, Bottineau Ambulance; Dan Tastad, Rolette Ambulance; Julie Tastad, Rolette Ambulance; Valerie Wentz, Rugby EMS.
