Keylee Odden and Amber Jaeger, Rugby FFA Chapter President/Vice President, attended the North Dakota FFA Chapter President's Conference held at the Chieftain Convention Center in Carrington, Monday and Tuesday, July 8 & 9. The Annual ND Chapter President's Conference is sponsored by the North Dakota FFA Foundation, the North Dakota FFA Alumni Association, and the Carrington FFA Alumni Affiliate.

Keynote presenters of the Conference included Amber Haugland, past ND state FFA president and past Central Region vice-president of the national FFA organization. Haugland is currently living in northwestern North Dakota. Amy Kelley, also a past Central Region vice-president of the national FFA organization, was a co-presenter. Kelley currently lives in Iowa.

"Make it Count" was the theme for the conference, as the recently-elected chapter presidents/vice presidents begin planning for a new school year/FFA year. Topics discussed at the conference included: levels of leadership; teamwork, relationships and conflicts; leadership through service; idea exchange; making connections; effective meeting operations; creating partnerships with community leaders, etc. Conference participants also received presentations from the ND FFA Foundation and the ND FFA Alumni Association. The conference is aimed at training FFA chapter presidents/vice presidents to perform their duties, and, in turn, train their fellow officers to have a successful FFA year through goal setting, servant leadership, and making community connections.
