August 2, 2013
Pierce County Tribune

The singing group, River Road, is coming back to Rugby to perform under the Ellery Park gazebo.

River Road, which is from the Devils Lake area, is comprised of mother and son, Sue and Alex Schwab; sisters Joni Haugland and Jodi Kurtz; Sue's sister, Amy Azure, and Gene Rosinski. Both Schwabs contribute vocals and guitar to the group, Kurtz contributes vocals and keyboard, and Azure, Haugland and Rosinski lend their voices. The group plays contemporary music, oldies and gospel, and "any song that is fun to sing", said Sue Schwab in an e-mail.

The group has performed regionally in the past, including last year at the Prairie Village Museum for the Village Fair.

River Road's performance starts at 7 p.m. in Ellery Park, weather permitting. At the same time, Lions Club members will be scooping free ice cream. In the case of bad weather, tune in to KZZJ for more information regarding an alternate venue.

Rounding out this year's season of Music in the Park will be Britton Grubb, a 13-year old pop and country singer from Washburn, on August 14, and Cotton Wood, a Washburn-based Bluegrass group, on August 21. There will also be Art in the Park and a picnic on the 21st.
