Rick Senger and the band will be coming back to Rugby again to perform at Music in the Park on Wednesday, July 17. The Sengers band will play country music as well as old time rock n' roll.

Prior to forming the Sengers Band over 30 years ago, Rick was in quite a few bands. In 1963 he sang with a group called "The Starfires". While living in Dickinson, he was a member of the group, "The Badlanders".

In the Sengers Band, Rick sings and plays guitar, and his wife, Jacque accompanies him on the keyboard and also sings.

For over a decade Rick also has been doing single engagements with his guitar, and has hosted karaoke events. He has also performed as someone else. He has performed, in complete costume and wig ensemble, a tribute to Elvis Presley, and has taken it on the road to various places in North Dakota (including the Devils Run Car Show), Minnesota, Las Vegas and Kansas City. Performing as "Elvis" first took place at a State Business and Professional Women's Convention; he was asked to perform there by his mother-in-law, Lucille Skyberg.

The Sengers Band will perform under the Ellery Park gazebo at 7 p.m., with members of the Rugby Lions club will be scooping free ice cream at the same time, weather permitting.
