Rev. Dana Holter is new pastor at Bethany Lutheran

Rev. Dana Holter is the new pastor at Bethany Lutheran Church, Rugby, and Wolford Lutheran Church, Wolford. He has been serving the two churches since May.

Pastor Holter had a career as an engineer with Otter Tail Power Company before he was tapped on the shoulder and led to the ministry.

He graduated from Luther Seminary, St. Paul, Minn. and has been a pastor since 1991. He served in Brandywine and Peru (pronounced (pea roo), West Virginia for 12 years and then in Charleston, West Virginia for 9 1/2 years before moving to Rugby.

Pastor Holter was originally from Hatton, N.D., so has moved back to his home state. He is married to LuAnn Holter. They have a grown son and daughter and four grandchildren. Mrs. Holter is a long-arm machine quilter.

The pastor is interested in old steam engines, woodworking and mechanics.
