Mitch Parker joins Special Olympics Board of Directors

Mitch Parker has been appointed to the Board of Directors for Special Olympics North Dakota (SOND). Parker is the Vice President of Finance at Northstar Agri Industries. As a board member he will be involved in the governance of the organization and will focus on the areas of management, planning, communication, and community involvement.

Parker has held previous senior finance positions at Bobcat Corp, American Crystal Sugar, and Cargill. Mr. Parker began his association with SOND through his involvement in the Fargo Golf Classic Committee, an SOND fundraiser and a committee Mr. Parker was the Chairman of for several years.

He is also involved in the Olivet Lutheran Church, the North Dakota High School Activities Association, and NDSU Team Makers and enjoys spending his time golfing and officiating high school football and basketball. Mr. Parker is married to Peggy and they have two children, a daughter Kelsey and a son Taylor.

Mitch is the son of former Rugby residents, Bill Parker, Fargo, and the late Arliss Parker.

Special Olympics North Dakota is a non-profit organization that provides year-round physical fitness, sports training, recreation, and competition in 15 sports to children and adults with intellectual disabilities. All activities are provided free of cost to the participants. More than 1,400 athletes are served in North Dakota.
