September 12, 2011
Pierce County Tribune

The Volunteen Program at Heart of America Medical Center (HAMC) recently wrapped up for the summer. The Volunteen Program offers teens a chance to volunteer in Long Term Care at HAMC. They spend many hours helping with bus rides, bingo, church services, baking, out-of-town trips, walks, taking the residents outside and more.

The Volunteen Program, administered by Linda Kay Duchscher at HAMC, concluded its year with an awards ceremony. Sarah Niemi received a certificate for the most hours served, accruing a total of over 80 hours this summer.
