J-M-B Band set to perform Aug. 10

Group is last act of the season

The J-M-B Band will be the last act to perform for this summer's Music in the Park.

The band has played at the Norsk Hostfest, the Frozen Finger Festival, the North Dakota State Fair, Fargo's annual Germanfest and many other venues and festivals. They also have six CDs for sale including, "Happy Days in North Dakota," "Kickin' Back in North Dakota," "Music Memories of North Dakota," "Jammin' in North Dakota," "North Dakota Saturday Night," and their Christmas album, "Season's Greetings from ND. They are also a member company of the Pride of Dakota.

The band is comprised of Minot residents Jerry Schlag, Merlyn (Bud) Witty and Myron Dammen. Schlag plays accordion, Witty plays bass and Dammen plays guitar. They have been playing various types of old-time music, polka, waltz and country since 2006. All three band members have performed in various groups over the years. They have also been inducted into the Dakota Music Association Hall of Fame, which is located in Aberdeen, S.D. Schlag was inducted in 2006, Witty in 2008 and Dammen in 2007.

The J-M-B Band's performance will start at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 10. All performances take place at Ellery Park, and are hosted by the Rugby Lions Club. Free ice cream will be provided.
