Experiencing 'deja vu'

Towner area band plays June 30

June 27, 2011
By Bryce Berginski

They may or may not have played in Rugby before, but at the next 'Music in The Park' the music "Deja Vu" plays will be all too familiar.

For over three years, the Towner and Bantry area band "Deja Vu" has played at wedding dances, street dances and birthday and anniversary parties. June 30 marks the first time they've played at Music in The Park, but not the first time they've played in Rugby. In the past the band has played at the Eagles.

The band is comprised of Vernon and Rex Larson, Jonothan "Jon-O" Kaylor and Justin Heiden. Heiden, in addition to playing drums, shares vocal duties with the Larsons. Rex and Vernon also play bass and guitar, respectively. Kaylor plays lead guitar.

The band plays country and classic rock from the fifties and sixties, but they do not limit themselves to music from those decades. On the band's MySpace page they have covers of songs by Chuck Berry, The Beach Boys, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Hollies and Eric Clapton.

Deja Vu's performance starts at 7 p.m. The event is free for all, and is hosted by the Rugby Lions Club.
