Performing 'naturally'

Country band to perform at Music in the Park

June 17, 2011
Pierce County Tribune

The next artist to perform at Music in the Park is comprised of people who have been on many stages, but together they will perform in a gazebo.

The four-piece band "Act Naturally" will perform Wednesday, June 23 at 7 p.m. They play country music, both new and old.

The band, comprised of members Don and Cody Kvasager, Chuck Sattler and Rodell Ottum, was formed in 1991. Sattler plays lead guitar, Don Kvasager plays bass and his son, Cody, plays drums, and Ottum plays steel and rhythm guitar and sings vocals.

Sattler and Don Kvasager have been performing since the eighties, being in bands that have shared the stage with Tom T. Hall, Dottie West, Southern Pacific and the Forrester Sisters. They also performed on the free stage at the Fargo Fair, playing before Garth Brooks.

Ottum is new to the band, although he is no stranger to performing in bands. He played in bands such as Stampede, Mischief and Silverado, which performed at WE Fest.

All the band members either currently live, or have lived in North Dakota in the past. The Kvasagers are from Thompson, and Ottum lived in Grand Forks. Sattler was born in Rugby and grew up in Knox, but currently resides in East Grand Forks, Minn.

Act Naturally will perform in the gazebo at Ellery Park. All Music in the Park performances are free to attend and are funded by the Rugby Lions Club.
