Ten members and one guest welcomed State President Karen Walz at the Lambda Chapter's monthly meeting Tuesday, April 19. A potluck meal, held at Leslee Thorpe's home in Towner, preceded the business meeting and initiation of new members. State President Karen Walz shared information from the state and international headquarters. Issues mentioned were the "Schools for Africa Project", mentoring new teachers, and the upcoming state convention in Minot June 10-11. March minutes were clarified. The scholarship fund at the University of North Dakota is the Eta Chapter Scholarship Fund, not Lambda's as previously reported. Initiation of three new members, (l-r) Carol Braaten, Wanda Follman, and Liz Deckert, followed the business meeting. The chapter presented each new member with a red rose and welcomed them to the society.
