Project Joy 2010

December 30, 2010
Pierce County Tribune

The Rugby Lions Club Project Joy wrapped up distribution of Christmas gifts to needy families in the Rugby area. Sixty-two families, with 174 individuals, were served. Pierce County Social Services worked with the Lions to identify disadvantaged families in our area. Wish-list tags were put on trees set up at Pamida, Borth's Department Store, and Rugby Hardware Hank. This year, Warm Coats for Project Joy was added, and over 40 gently-worn coats were given out. Above, Daryl Courtney (left), manager, Pamida, presents a $1500 check from the Pamida Foundation to Lila Harstad (center) and Brenda Foster (right), co-chairs for Project Joy, to help fill the wish-list tags.
