Rugby Girls take first, Boys take 2nd in Four Winds Tourney

The Rugby cross country teams did well in the Four Winds Invitational held on Saturday, September 25 at Fort Totten. The girls took first place among 33 runners and the boys took second place among 32 runners in the tournament.

The Rugby top finisher in the varsity girls 4000 meter run was Chandra Yankton with first place and a time of 16:28.Yankton was also the individual winner with her 16.28 time. She was followed by Sydney Kraft who took second with a time of 16:42. Crystal Hovland was right on Kraft's heels with a fourth place finish and a time of 17:42.

Devils Lake was the big challenger for the Rugby boys with their first place award. Garrett Thompson took fifth place with a time of 19:11. He was followed by Kyle Volk a second later. Volk took 6th place with a time of 19:12. Wyatt Thompson and Erik Wangler strode across the finish line with the same time 19:13, Thompson taking seventh place and Wangler at eighth place.
