The Sengers to entertain at Music in the Park

Devils Lake pair to perform on June 16

June 11, 2010
Tribune Staff Report

For more than three decades, Rick and Jacque Senger - The Sengers -have traveled the state, performing at clubs, dances and private parties.

The couple from Devils Lake will bring the sounds of '50s and '60s rock and roll and classic country to Rugby's Music in the Park concert series this Wednesday, June 16, beginning at 7 p.m. at Ellery Park.

Audiences will be well familiar with their arrangement of cover songs from one of music's golden eras.

Rick began playing in 1963 with the group, The Starfires, but had to take a break in 1965 for military service. He eventually resumed playing for audiences and over the years has performed mainly in the immediate region to be able to stay close to family.

However, there are times that "Elvis" is called away to perform in such places as Las Vegas, Kansas City and points in between.

Yes, Rick has a second gig - impersonating the "King" and performing his classic songs. "Elvis" made a trip to Ellery Park last summer and audiences this year will again be treated with this musical side of Senger later this summer.
