Pfeifer to be ordained

Diaconate ceremony to take place May 31 at Little Flower Church

Neil Pfeifer will be ordained to the transitional diaconate by Bishop Samuel J. Aquila, bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Fargo, on May 31 at 4 p.m. at Little Flower Catholic Church.

Ordination to the transitional diaconate means that Pfeifer has only one more year of formation in theology before he will be ordained to the priesthood.

Neil is the son of Roy and Janice Pfeifer, Rugby. He attended Rugby High School and spent one-and-one-half years at the University of Mary, Bismarck. He became a seminarian for the Diocese of Fargo in 2004, attended Cardinal Muench Seminary and North Dakota State University in Fargo, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy and humanities.

He is currently completing his third year of theology at Mount St. Mary's Seminary in Emmitsburg, Md.
