March 5, 2010
Pierce County Tribune

Brenda Burns has accepted the position of Chaplain at Heart of America Medical Center (HAMC) in Rugby. She fills the vacancy left by the retirement of long time Chaplain Rev. Clarence Stanley who served for 19 years.

Brenda brings to the Chaplaincy several years of experience as Pastor at the Knox Community Church and Lebanon Lutheran in Leeds. Her education includes attending Northwest Bible College in Minot, a Criminal Justice Degree from Minot State University, and completion of her pastoral education through the Interdenominational Ministry in Minneapolis, MN. She was ordained in 1991 and continues to pursue her Masters in Biblical Studies through correspondence from the International Theological Seminary in Florida.

Pastor Burns has been a resident of Rugby for many years and in her capacity has ministered both at HAMC and Haaland Estates. On her appointment she said "I am grateful and thankful for this opportunity to share, visit, and minister in this area. I pray The Lord will help me to be a blessing to the people, as they have been to me."
