Tribune Staff Report

Dallas Knudson, of Towner, was elected President pro tem of the Senate for the National Silver Haired Congress in Washington, D.C. on Feb. 8. Knudson has served as secretary and second vice president of the National Silver Haired Congress.

The National Silver Haired Congress is structured like the U.S. Congress with two branches: the Senate and the House of Representatives. It convenes annually and is a non-affiliated, non-profit, non-partisan grassroots initiative promoting support of issues involving older adults.

At State Night, the North Dakota display won second place. Knudson, along with her husband, Warner, received a plaque for preparing the display. Warner, a delegate in the House of Representatives, serves as the official photographer.
