Jerry Kurtkya is Rugby's new fire chief. He was elected to the position at the department's annual meeting on Jan. 15. Kurtyka has been on the volunteer department for nearly 25 years. He takes over for Gary Kraft, who served in that capacity the past three years.

Jerry Block was re-elected assistant fire chief and Kevin Schepp continues in the secretary-treasurer position.
