| | What is Happening here?January 16, 2012 - Terri Kelly BartaThe first two weeks of January, we had only a trace of snow recorded the whole time. Temperatures were in the 40s and one day it was 59 degrees. We were running around with no coats, going outside for walks, just enjoying the balmy weather. However, winter has returned with a sprinkling of snow and the high is 1 degree and the low a couple of degrees below zero. Layers of clothing are back in vogue. Rugby has so much going on all the time, that there never is cabin fever as far as I can tell. Next weekend is an annual fundraising event for the fair board which includes a homemade sausage contest, Theresa's ham and sausage supper, an auction of items too numerous to mention and it is all Saturday night at the Eagles. On Thursday, January 26 the Good Samaritan Health Association will hold a gala fundraiser with a prime rib dinner and a silent auction with many nice items. Coming up in February is the Lions Club Tables Envisioned project. On Feb. 18 and 19, approximately 20 tables will be on display at Dakota Farms with various china, tea cup collection, and other special dishes. A booklet containing stories about the displays are included. Article CommentsNo comments posted for this article. Post a Comment | in: News, Blogs & Events Web |
