| | What's Happening?November 25, 2011 - Terri Kelly BartaWe are looking forward to the Parade of Lights tonight (Friday). Each year there are some dazzling entries decorated in Christmas lights. The more businesses that participate, the more fun it is for the spectators. Thanksgiving Day here in Rugby was a balmy 45+degrees with no snow, blue sky and sunshine. Today, it is overcast and about 32 degrees with snow predicted for later in the evening. Many people in town put their Christmas lights on their homes and trees a week or two ago when the weather was really nice. The wreaths are up on Main Avenue and Santa Claus will be making an early stop in Rugby for the parade. Rugby has a new promotion this year to encourage people to shop at home stores. It's called Scratch and Win. Shoppers get tickets from the merchants, scratch them off and one out of four is a winner. The stores provide prizes. It seems to be bringing customers into the stores to at least browse and hopefully pick up a few items they need. Hope you are having a sunny and warm winter so far, snowbirds.
