As the day progressed and the wind picked up people were changing their travel plans for the day. By evening Rugby had accumulated 5 inches of snow. Winter has unofficially begun in the Heart of America. Fortunately, snow tires are on, winter survival gear in the trunk, and we are back out on the highway, resigned to winter driving for the next 17 weeks or so. Somehow 17 weeks sounds better than just over four months. Enjoy your sunshine snowbirds and bring it with you when you come back in the late spring. For those left behind in colder climates, it is layers, layers, and more layers. Happy Thanksgiving everyone. We have much to be thankful this holiday season.
